Had quite a bit of footage to sift through, but I got some really nice shots that really capture the feeling I was going for. Calm, relaxing, and tranquil. Kick back and enjoy some nature. Footage from Spicer Lake. https://vimeo.com/106775928
There was a lot of movement in the shots, and that didn't really make it feel calm for me. Also, I felt like the handheld shots didn't really fit in with the emotion. I really enjoyed the shot of the squirrel. It was unique and something that hasn't been done a lot before.
Your camera movement was very smooth, when you did a pan along the tree line it was very successful. The music choice was also fitting to the mood of calm and peaceful.
The fading transitions are nice for this type of emotion. However, I think since your emotion was calmness and tranquility, a little less motion would've helped portray the emotion. There was always a lot of movement going on which made is seem kind of busy. Other than that, good job.
For me the most distracting part of the video was the sound design and some of the panning. The sounds stopped abruptly and some of the panning were shakey. But this did capture a sense of peace.
There is a lot of nice, smooth camera work in this video. My only complaint is that there is a scene where you can visibly see the tri-pod you were using and it kind of disjointed the nature aesthetic. Overall very well done.
Very nice music selection. The rhythm of the edit was smooth and flowed well with a good use of transitions. You had some good movement in here and it was well designed.
The music choice was great for this video. It really enhanced the "peaceful" feeling.
ReplyDeletebeautiful camerawork, and good decision on including the ambient sound and the audio track.
ReplyDeleteGood job at conveying the emotion of peace. I was a little distracted by the change in audio. It popped every once in a while.

ReplyDeleteJumpy camera, sounds needed to be faded, and the ending was weak. Things I'll improve on in the next video I edit.
ReplyDeleteThe images were very nice, good music choice added with the nature sounds.
ReplyDeleteI liked all the different shot you got, and your music chose.

ReplyDeleteI think this was very well done. The addition of the nature sounds and the subtle piano accompanying the visuals was a great choice.

ReplyDeleteThe music you chose was a very nice fit for a calm feel. I could be wrong but I think i saw a tripod on the dock.
